Plan Your Coursework
Once you understand the lower-division requirements of the major and campus you’ve chosen, you need to sit down and figure out which specific California Community College courses will meet those requirements. With a little research you can choose courses that use your time at the college effectively and still give you flexibility as you choose a major and a UC campus. Effective course choices can help you transfer and graduate as soon as possible.
Focus on completing your minimum admission requirements first; then on meeting the required lower-division major preparation; then on GE (at some campuses, remember, completing GE is part of major preparation). In many cases you can choose courses that apply to your admissions requirements, your major, and to GE.
The next pages provide more information about planning your coursework.
