University Requirements
All students must fulfill the following University of California requirements. You'll find details about all of these in the Course Catalog for each UC campus.
- UC Entry Level Writing Requirement (formerly Subject
A)
- You must demonstrate an ability to write effectively. You can do this with coursework or tests either before or after you transfer.
- American History and Institutions
- You must show an understanding of the history and government of the United States. You can do this with coursework or tests either before or after you transfer.
- Unit requirement
- You'll be required to complete a minimum number of units for your degree. You'll also be limited in how many units you can attempt.
- Residence requirement
- You'll be required to complete at least a minimum number of units at your UC campus.
- Scholarship requirement
- A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required, overall and in your major. Each campus, college, school, or program may have higher requirements
